Free Car Appraisal Center at Serra of Jackson

Serra Chevrolet opened a car appraisal center last week.  The center allows people to take their car or truck to the local Chevy dealership and find out the trade in or retail value.

"If it's a late model, low-mile car, we may be interested in buying it an not just appraising it," said John Dunn, general manager.

Dunn said the appraisal center is a no-pressure way for people to learn exactly how much they can get for their car or truck before shopping for a new vehicle.

"We need to make it clear," he said. "There is no obligation, and we are not going to try and sell them something. It is just a service we are going to offer to the public."

The appraisal center is a way to bring people shopping for a vehicle to Serra first, Dunn said, but if they buy a car elsewhere, so be it.  "Yes, we want to increase our business, and we want their business if we can get it," Dunn said, "but if they want a Toyota or Ford instead, at least they will know what their trade is worth." 

There is no charge to take a vehicle to the center, Dunn said. He said the center helped about 25 people in its first week of operation.  "It's a good program," he said.  For more information, call the dealership at 660-5501 or (800) 424-1550.
