GMC Acadia Features

The 2022 GMC Acadia had a change in its trim models. They dropped the base level SL model, so the SLE trim is the new base model. They also added many driver-assisted features on all the trim lines.

Safety Upgrades

The GM Pro Safety Plus advanced driver aids are now standard on all Acadias. Automatic emergency braking gives a warning about a front impact and applies the brakes if you don't respond in time.

They have added front and rear parking sensors to help you know if something is in your parking area that you cannot see. The lane-keeping assist will move you back into the lane if you begin to drift over the line.

The blind-spot monitor will give you a warning if there is a car in your blind spot while you are changing lanes. These upgrades caused the Acadia to receive a five-star rating from NHTSA safety testing

SLE Trim

The SLE trim comes with many features not normally seen in a base model. It has a four-cylinder turbocharged 228-hp engine and standard 18-inch wheels. Keyless ignition and entry are also available along with OnStar services.

There are three zones of automatic climate control for comfort. The 8-inch infotainment touchscreen has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The sound system has active noise cancellation and a six-speaker sound system.

The five USB ports will help all your tech devices stay powered. There is a 12-volt outlet to use for bigger power needs. It also comes with Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities and LED headlights.

SLT Trim

For the SLT trim, GMC includes everything from the SLE and adds some great extras. Roof rails and foglights are added along with remote start and a hands-free liftgate.

The driver's seat is an eight-way power seat, and all the seats receive leather upholstery. The front seats also add heating options for those cold mornings. The middle row adds a regular household 110 outlet for your charging options.

The infotainment system adds navigation in this trim. They also upgrade the sound with an eight-speaker Bose audio sound system with an HD radio. The rearview mirror also gets an upgrade with an auto-dimming feature.

AT4 Trim

GMC took the SLT trim and added some extra features to create a more off-road capable vehicle. The 310-hp V6 engine comes standard for more power. They also have special 17-inch rims with all-terrain tires.

The all-wheel drive comes standard and adds some specific components for greater traction. A hill descent control feature uses the antilock brakes to give a smooth descent on rough terrain.

GMC also added a hill hold assist to the AT4. This feature holds the brakes under specific conditions while the driver shifts their foot from the brake to the accelerator. This keeps the vehicle from rolling backward.

The AT4 also comes with a special black exterior trim to set it apart.

Denali Trim

The Denali trim is GMC's top-line feature. It has many special features like a unique grille and 20-inch wheels. The adaptive suspension helps smooth your ride out, and the outside mirrors are heated and power-fold.

The head-up display is a feature that displays important information in your sightline on the windshield. The front seats are ventilated, and the second-row seats are heated.

The driver's seat adds a memory function, and the passenger's seat gets the eight-way power-adjustable upgrade. It also adds a wireless charging pad for your tech.

The Denali offers two special option packages that you can add. The technology package adds the following:

{C}·         {C}Enhanced automatic braking

{C}·         {C}Adaptive cruise control

{C}·         {C}Top-down parking view of surroundings

The Denali also adds Amazon Alexa standard, so you have even more hands-free options while you drive.

Additional Options

GMC gives you the ability to add some of the higher trim options to lower trims if you want to. They also have some other options that are available on any trim line.

You can add a rear entertainment system for your passengers. The second-row seating can be changed to a bench seat. This increases the passenger load to seven instead of the standard six passengers.
